Working with Trek Bikes - Winter campaign
Too cool for school? We got a little more snow than we hoped for when we did a photo shoot for Trek Bikes Scandinavia in January.
Born in 1975 I grew up at the west coast of Norway in a small town called Voss. The village sits in a location surrounded by snow-capped mountains, forests, lakes and fast flowing white water rivers. This has led to its development as a notable center of skiing, water sports, skydiving, paragliding and other adventure sports. Voss has and still is the home of many world-class athletes. As almost any other kid from my town, I grew up with sport and nature as my playground. This is where I got my strong love for the outdoors, friendships, sports and photography. Besides photography I invest time in Jujitsu, skiing, mountainbiking, touring, deerhunting and my family. Married to Elisabeth, father of Maja and Filip.
My photography experience started at the age of 14, with my first camera. Inspired by local nature photographers, my surroundings and wildlife was my first love and focus. Somehow, in spite of my passion for photography I did not think of it as a career. I ended up studying at the Norwegian university of police. Yes, I am one of those self though “it started as a hobby” photographers. After almost 10 years as a police officer I finaly realized what I really wanted. With my wife pregnant, I quit my job and deliverd my badge and cuffs in 2011. By this time I had already done assigments for clients since 2005. When I finally resigned I already had a good list of commercial clients.
I am a lover of bigscale landscapes and people using nature as a playground. I love colors and contrast, the simplicity in the midst of complexity, black & whites, working with action in a large environment and also the quiet untouched landscapes. Photography has every thing to do with love for what you shoot, and there is a lot that inspires me. I am proud of the fact that I can be just as enthusiastic about shooting the local kids, as I am shooting some of world best skiers, a new car model, or just the sunset over my home town. Travel is important to me, and I am happy that some of my assignments bring me to places I have never been before. A dream assignment. A photographer's dream. Imagine. You will be assigned to visit 25 unique places in Norway. Not the normal attractions, but the detours. The places you find outside the tourist radar. The place you'd rather visit. The place you came to by chance.
